i went last night with some friends to a place that had half-off sushi on mondays.  normally i don’t care much to go, b/c i don’t like sushi.  the thought of raw anything makes me want to gag.  but i decided to go hang out anyway and have fun.  i just have a question.  is it sushi-cheating if you get sushi but get the kind that’s cooked?  i guess there’s something to be said of people who eat the raw stuff.  i mean–are they cooler?  are they risk-takers?  are they more open-minded?  or are they just gross and eat raw meat?  i don’t know.  is it fair for cooked-sushi eaters to be considered ‘sushi-eaters’?  does that upset raw-sushi eaters?  i’m just wondering.  cause i got some and it was cooked.  so i feel much better about myself…you know…i was right in the middle of the sushi trend and didn’t have to eat something raw.  that was kind of nice.

i was driving on the interstate last night and realized one of the big reasons i like movie theaters: carefree-with-wreckless-abandonment-popcorn-eating.

i had half a bag of popcorn leftover from seeing dream girls the other night. so i carried it with me to snack on as i drove to cullman. i was just eating my popcorn having a good time listening to music. all of a sudden i noticed popcorn falling as i tried to eat it. normally in the theater, that would be no problem — just let it fall. popcorn is expected to dwell on the floor. oh but not in my car. all of a sudden i had to pay attention and make sure each kernel actually made it into my mouth, b/c i would not want to pick it up in my car. and i didn’t like this as much. it helped me to appreciate movie theaters. you stand up, dust off and leave. that’s nice.

i love diet lipton green tea with citrus.

it’s a great source of antioxidants.

i realized i haven’t posted anything in 2007!  so that must happen right now.  the first 2 weeks of the year have been great so far.  i took a trip to gatlinburg with lots of friends from work.  it was a blast.  we were supposed to ski, but that’s rather difficult in 60 degree weather.  here’s a lovely picture of me, lauren and jensi.  i might post a couple more when jensi sends me hers:

and one more…because it wouldn’t properly describe the trip if i didn’t mention jamie’s lethal cherries.  here’s a shot of everyone eating one:

i also went to carabba’s to celebrate my friend, christi’s, birthday.  it was a fun time hanging out with the girls.  they bring you a mac daddy dessert for your birthday too…and i’m pretty sure it was free which made it even better.  here’s a pic of us eating our dessert:

moving on to other events…last week we had another official meeting for the launch of life church of tennessee.  everything is going well so far.  it’s been amazing how obviously God has worked details into place…especially when i was wondering how the heck it was all going to happen!  william and laura louise are tons of fun, and i love hanging out with them.  here’s a picture of the most precious, newest addition to their family (william III a.k.a. wills.)  hello cutie pie!!…

and most recently….a fun time was had by all at a going away party for my friend, michael, at work.  it was great, b/c so many ted’s peeps showed up at the blue bar for this.  it was kinda crazy that we filled up a whole room.  michael is moving back home to atlanta.  here’s a pic with me, him and cynthia:
