i have been editing some of my pictures over the holidays and thought i’d give a photo commentary on the 4 days i was home in big c-town.

friday night, dec 22:  my 17th annual christmas party with my friends in cullman.  over the years, these parties have varied greatly.  from sneaking out of the house, full range parties, decorating basements to board games, charades, karaoke, fights over dirty santa gifts.  but this year was different than all the rest by far.  i had a blast and loved getting to catch up with everyone.  three of the six girls attending are pregnant, and one just had a baby 2 weeks ago!  i sure did learn a lot about childbirth and such.  here’s a pic of me and some of my ‘oldest’ friends:

saturday night, dec 23:  immediate family christmas at my dad and stepmom’s with all the siblings.  this was nice for the first time to have an entire evening devoted for the gathering.  we had dinner, opened presents and played ‘deal or no deal.’  here’s a picture of my dad karate-chopping ann with his new cold weather gear:

sunday night, dec 24:  extended family christmas with my grandma & floyd at my aunt and uncle’s house.  this year we had soups!  we like to change it up a bit.  we draw names among everyone.  and normally my dad and aunt will have some type of joke to play on each other.  my aunt’s been slipping the last few years though.  this year dad got us in on the deal and we got to sing and play musical instruments.  we really should try this out professionally…my dad could write and sing…we are all great back up…really…

can’t you see how they all enjoy this?

and monday night, dec 25:  even though my mom didn’t get to come home for christmas, i was able to get together with my grandma and everyone on that side of the family.  since my grandma lives in an assisted living home, we brought the par-tay to her.  here is my uncle danny showing off my grandma’s new book light.  it doesn’t look all that exciting, but i promise you – it was:

that sums it up!  i hope you had a wonderful christmas holiday!

y’all really…….

if i would have started counting this morning, i believe i would be up to precisely 142 sneezes just today.

and something else that’s pretty gross — just to warn you — don’t read if you don’t like runny noses:

not once in my life have i been unable to control my snot output.  sorry if i grossed you out.  i took a decongestant by accident, and it’s like somebody opened the flood gates in my head.  it comes on without warning.  if you don’t have a kleenex — well…tough.

so….there you have an update from me.

merry christmas!!  :  )

So I sold my car yesterday!  I’m very excited about this…it’s a big weight off my shoulders.  I’m like thousands of dollars closer to being completely debt free.  I will let you know when that big D-Day is, b/c it is coming soon.  I’m looking for a cheapo car now…preferably NOT a lemon.  After using that word, I’m now wondering why they call those cars a lemon.  I can’t think of a reason, b/c lemons seem okay to me.  Anyway, I have a few leads that seem quite nice.  I’m just checking into them.  Craig’s List is one of the best websites EVER.  There are so many cars for sale on there it is amazing.  I give a big, fat salute to my 2004 Honda.  What a great car…it’s sad to see her go…but oh well.  It’s worth it.

i don’t really have anything to say, but if i’m going to be a blog encourager…i need to blog.  so here you go.  ha!  yesterday i went to see that new movie ‘the holiday.’  it was a lot better than i had expected.  very cute!  and i’ve also been reading a book of my roommate’s called ‘dreaming with God’ by bill johnson.  this book is amazing, and i highly recommend it.  he talks about dreams and desires that God put inside of us and how the church has sometimes smashed down creativity (not just in the arts but many areas) and basically killed off dreams of people in the name of ’suffering’ for Jesus.  but that’s how God will use us…through our passions that He put inside of us.  we are free to be ourselves…who He created.  not just robots living in religion.  i’m not done with it yet, but it’s already awesome.  and i’m very encouraged.

“You are God’s idea, and He longs to see the treasure that is in your heart.”

i’m selling my car.  this is mainly b/c i’d like to save up some money for down the road.  and b/c my income changed when i moved to nashville, and i’m a bit tired of scramming to pay a car payment every month (is scramming a word?)  anyway, it’s a great car, and i would love to keep it.  here are the stats:

2004 honda accord black, 4door, 46k -- $16,500 — front and side air bags, tan cloth interior, 6 disc changer, was purchased as a certified honda, so it still has the powertrain warranty, rear spoiler, power sun roof.
